I’ve been thinking a lot about branding lately. You’ll have to forgive me…it’s an occupational hazard.
A company’s brand is a complicated construct of values, personality and market differentiation. Distilled, it is very similar to the writerly concept of voice.
When I say voice I don’t just mean tone or style. It’s more than that – it’s message, approach and goals too.
Look at Kanye West – love him or hate him – there’s a dude with voice. And I’m not just talking about singing.
When you start looking for voice, you start seeing it everywhere.
And you realize it’s the way to be heard.
